| Alan Mantooth |
Dr. Alan Mantooth, a member of the space center and a faculty member in the department of electrical engineering, has recently been named to the Twenty-First Century Chair in Mixed-Signal Circuit Design and Computer-Aided Design at the University of Arkansas. The chair was established to provide leadership in the area of hardware and software design, creating a crossover between electrical engineering, device physics and computer engineering.
Dr. Mantooth also recently won NASA funding for SiGe circuit development. Mantooth’s company, Lynguent Inc., will design circuits and develop new device models for cryogenic and wide temperature operation such as found on the moon. Lynguent Inc. is an electronic design automation company based in Portland, Ore., that focuses on analog and mixed-signal modeling and collaborative design tools.

| Workshops for Teachers Grades 4-12 |
The space center recently concluded two astronomy workshops for teachers on the UArk campus. WebScopes in the Classroom was held June 8-10 under the direction of Dr. Claud Lacy, a member of the space center and a faculty member in the Physics department, and Patti Sandberg-Lacy. The STORI (Summer Triangle: Observing, Research and Inquiry) workshop took place June 12-16 under the direction of Dr. Larry Lebofsky, of the University of Arizona, and Nancy Lebofsky. We would like to thank all of the teachers that participated this year.
