* The University of Arkansas chapter of the Arkansas Women in Statistics and Mathematics is working with the space center to facilitate this public lecture.  The Arkansas Women in Statistics and Mathematics (AWSM, pronounced "awesome") was created in 2002 as a support and discussion group for female students and faculty involved in the mathematical sciences. Women are still a minority in the scientific community worldwide: among AWSM's chief goals is to foster, encourage and promote the participation of women in the hard sciences at the University of Arkansas.  For more information on AWSM, please click here.
