In this ten week program, students will carry out research in the Center in one of the following areas:
- Astrophysics and astronomy
- Mission design engineering
- CubeSat engineering
- Planetary geochemistry
- Planetary geology and geophysics
Participants will receive a stipend in the amount of $5000 for the 10 weeks plus $500 in travel funds for travel to and from the site. Additional funds for on-campus housing and a meal allowance are also provided. In order to enhance the cohort experience, all participants are expected to live in on-campus housing.
In addition, $500 in travel support will be allotted for each participant to attend a national or regional conference during the academic year following the period of summer research. To complement their research experience, participants will engage in a weekly seminar program and several field trips including a visit to the NASA's Johnson Space Center (expenses paid by program). The program will end with a meeting during the final week of the program at which participants will present the results of their summer projects.
